Bill Gates had donated over $36,854,000,000 in his lifetime

Bill Gates Money How Much of it Does He Give Away?

Bill Gates’ net worth in 2010 ranges from $53 Billion to $58 Billion Dollars according to Forbes.com and various other websites. I’d like to point out that net worth is not money. So when you say that Bill Gates has a net worth of 53 Billion Dollars, that does not mean that he has 53 Billion Dollars in his bank account.

I hope that’s clear. I would assume that with that much money, Bill Gates doesn’t even have a dollar in his pocket. He probably uses his retina to pay for things.

There are other ways to see how much money he has. One way is through donations.

Here is the semi complete list of donations that Bill Gates has made over the years.

  3. Yup, he's been very generous with the money he (arguably) extorted from so many people during his business career. Not everyone is enamored by the "Robin Hood" role model...but I suppose it's better than the tycoons who greedily take all they can get and then never give anything back.......

  4. But he's still not paying his "fair share", right?

    1. You want more kids learning programming to help society not waste it on guns and shit. What is he gonna do, give it to the government and watch it go into the pickets of politicians.

You chose the president who screwed you over, don't hate gates because he's giving money he earned away. he doesn't bring the money to his death, he gives it away to better humanity. When's the last time you gave to someone on the street?

  12. He's still a new world order globalist who supports population control and eugenics.

  13. This man has single handedly changed the lives of thousands of people in developing countries. What his foundation has accomplished is nothing short of amazing.

  14. He can donate to me anytime, I give back to my community but if my mortgage was paid off I could give back a lot more

  15. How can you be so ridiculous as to claim that he has only done it to get tax breaks, or it doesn't count because he 'extorted' people to get the money. $36bn has changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people for the better, and he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, philanthropist in history.

I'd totally throw a reeses at Melinda.

  16. yea he gave away billions good for him what a hero how about the flip side of that coin in that he has STOLEN that same amount of billions in taxes that should have gone to helping all the ppl that need help in this country.....so call him a hero all you want but the facts are facts buddy if we all did what the rich elites and corportaions are doing we would be way more than 16 trillion in debt...

  18. Just me, or is that a shit ton of circumcision? I assume black foreskin a delicacy Gates feeds to his moat sharks?

  19. So, we're supposed to believe that Gates is a good guy just because he gave away so much money? He made most of his money on copyright monopolies and patent rent seeking. He structured business deals to exclude competition.

If he had made much less money from his work at Microsoft, ordinary people would have more money to spend on other things and thus, buoy the economy. Concentration of wealth and income in the hands of a few or even one man is bad for democracy, bad for the economy and reduces inputs for determining the fate of our nation.

Gates is no hero, but he would sure like to appear as one.

  20. Ethically speaking, none of that money is his to give away. In a perfect world, there would be a "maximum wage" wherein an obscenely wealthy individual is simply forced to give any money in excess of their maximum allowance back to the people they're taking that money from. He should be redistributing that money to us, the people he originally took it from, so we can do with it as we please, donations or otherwise. It shouldn't be up to him... none of it. He's a malthusian and a communist, and he finally gets to force his philosophies on vast swaths of the world using all the wealth he's been stealing from us since the 80s. Good for him I guess.

    1. A "maximum" wage is a communist policy, one I personally approve of, even if people think me a communist for it. But lets see this for what it is, Bill made a whole lot of money and is still making a whole lot of money from work he previously did. 'Previously' being the opperative word here. Bill gives money to things he believes will benefit groups of people and in turn give more people a chance to do good. This is not a bad thing. And when you speak of theft, why 'did' you give money to Microsoft? You had alternatives right? Bill did not steal anything, he always acted within the premise of law. As it turns out, some untested laws got testes because of things he did, and that set president for interpetations later. He still opperated within the confines of law, and today he opperates with a good heart.

  23. There's a mistake in here. Bill Gates made $18.5 Million donation for Male Circumcision program (Link: http://www.wellsphere.com/men-s-health-article/bill-gates-donation-for-circumcision/720699 ) which is incorrectly counted as $18.5 Billion here, skewing the total amount. Despite it, total donation comes to $18.3 Billion which is quite remarkable.
